Wir können es kaum glauben, dass es schon wieder Freitag ist und wissen gar nicht so recht, wo die Woche hin ist, die wie ein total verrücktes Festival an uns vorbeigerast ist. Nicht nur dass Alex zum großen Glück, nur mit einem Schrecken bei einem Autounfall davon gekommen ist, auch das Wetter ist seit Tagen trüb und grau. Mit großem Optimismus, dass sich das Wochenende von seiner schönsten Seite zeigen wird, stimmen wir uns schon mal ein, mit dieser fantastischen Hochzeit aus Detroit (USA) und den ausdrucksstarken Bildern bei der Berliner Fotografin Anja Birkner von HochzeitsbilderGeschichten.
Die zwei Love-Birds, Andrea und Mario feierten ihren größten Tag genauso wie sie es sich vorstellten. Eine prächtige Location in Detroit (USA) aus dem Jahre 1920 umgeben von herrlichen Gärten in ruhiger Lage, ist für die Braut ein sehr vertrauter Ort aus den Kindheitstagen. Dieses Ambiente trug ganz speziell dazu bei, der Feier eine sehr persönliche Note zu verleihen. Auch das Brautkleid, mit sage und schreibe 6.8kg, vereinte alles was sich die Braut wünschte. Die märchenhafte Robe unterstrich ganz wundervoll den klassisch-vintage Stil der Hochzeit. Auch edle Dekorationen verzaubern den Festsaal und Farbtöne aus lila, cremefarben und Gold kombiniert mit prächtigen Orchideen, Rosen und Lilles, ergeben dieses erstklassige Arrangement.
Der Charme und die Herzlichkeit dieser Hochzeit, äußern in uns den Wunsch, auch ganz tief in diese Stimmung einzutauchen. Ob wir es schaffen werden, da schnell wieder in die Realität zurück zu finden, können wir noch nicht versprechen. Viel Spaß auch euch, beim Eintauchen in dieses Bilderparadies.

I think the most successful weddings are the ones where the bride and groom stay true to their taste and styles. So many times people get caught up in the moment and are influenced by other people that their vision becomes someone else’s. Also stay calm, breathe, and remember that it’s about the ‘I do’ part and friends and family enjoying each other’s company—everything else is just a bonus!
Die Inspiration:
My husband and I both have a taste for vintage items; I like vintage clothes and jewellery, and he likes vintage cars particularly (the wedding venue was built by the widow of one of the men who founded my husband’s favourite car company). Our wedding colours were inspired by the month of our first date. Our first date was in February, which is the amethyst birth stone month, so that gave me the idea to infuse that colour into our wedding. Once I figured out our colour, I was off and running.
Die Hochzeitstorte:
Like everything else in our wedding, I wanted the cake to look tasteful, elegant and classy without being over the top ostentatious. It was going to have to be big to feed all of our guests. The cake was four tiered and ended up being about 3 feet tall; not too big, not too small…perfect. The layers alternated between marble cake with fresh raspberry and lemon curd filling and marble cake with fresh strawberries and strawberry jam filling. And the whole cake was frosted with vanilla butter cream. In between the layers were a few flowers to tie in all of our decorations. I knew I wanted the design of the cake to match my dress. Coming up with that idea was the easy part, the hard part was making it happen. The baker and I finally decided that the embroidery on my dress would make a great design to decorate the wedding cake. So they drew inspiration from a section of my dress that resembled the fleur de lis, and piped that on to the cake.
Das Geschenk an die Brautjungfern:
As part of their bridesmaid gifts, I gave them earring made by my mom and antique pins with amethyst stones in the centre to wear at the sash of the dress. The junior bridesmaid was given an amethyst bracelet to wear, which was also made by my mom. I had chosen amethyst as the main wedding colour because amethyst is February’s birthstone, and my husband and I had our first date in February.
Résumé:
There are so many memories that stick out in my head, the biggest one it the pure joy of marrying the man of my dreams. A few other ones I will never forget will be my new husband lifting me up and carrying me around the entire tent as we were introduced for the first time as a married couple. Another one is towards the end of the night, as my new husband and I were getting reading to leave, I was gathering my belongings and took my shoes off so I could move quicker. I was running through the halls of a rambling old mansion in my bare feet. How many people can say they did that.
